With the opening ceremony held on May 29th, 2014, Ogura’s third plant in China, Ogura Changxing commenced its operation.
　The plant is located in Changxing County in Zhejiang Province (about 100miles west of Shanghai). The site are is 23,738 m^2 (25,5514 ft^2), and the total floor space is 6,438 m^2 (69,298 ft^2). The number of employees is 79, including Japanese staff of 6. 
　Initially it is going to produce industrial products, such as elevator brakes, servo motor brakes and brakes for industrial motors, but automotive air conditioning clutches will be added to its product line later this year.
　This is the first time for Ogura to make industrial products and automotive air conditioning clutches at the same plant.

In anticipation of air-conditioner clutch market expansion in the near future in India, Ogura is establishing a subsidiary in India, Ogura Clutch India PVT. LTD. (It is to start its operation in June 2014). Capital investment is 200 million Rupee (approximately 330 million yen), and the location is in the state of Haryana (northern part of India). For the time being, production will take place at a rented facility. 
　Production is expected to ramp up in the fall of 2015, starting with clutches for Japanese compressor makers (annually 100 thousand clutches). By 2017, the total quantity is expected to reach 200 thousand. Once production of air conditioner clutches is well established, Ogura plans to produce other types of products, such as industrial clutches and brakes.

Ogura exhibited at Tokyo Auto Salon 2014 (January 10th ~ 12th at Makuhari Messe). 
　This year in addition to usual wide range of line-up, Ogura prepared a special exhibit section, targeting popular sports car, Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ.
　Ogura also exhibited new products, 400 Light clutch with damper for Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ, Metal Single clutch for Mazda Road Star (NC),250 Light clutch for Mazda Road Star and 400 Light clutch for BMW M3/318i,all of which received great interests from the attendees.
　Every year Ogura brings a vehicle to this show to appeal to motor sports fans, and this year,Ogura exhibited the “Kuruma” of Inter Proto Series (for One Make Race).Ogura also hosted a talk show at the booth, having Mr. Masanori Seikiya-the producer of Inter Proto Series and the first Japanese racer to win 24 Hours of Le Mans (presently the manager of Super GT Tom’s Team) as a guest.Both the talk show and “Kuruma” attracted many attendees to Ogura booth.

　Ogura Thailand has completed the construction of additional building. The purpose of the addition is to increase its production capacity (single story reinforced concrete building with floor space 2,720 square meters = 0.67 acres). This has enabled the plant to produce Field Cores in Thailand and production has started in mid-October 2013.
　Primary operations are: shaving of field core blank, Phosphate conversion coating (Parkerizing), stamping, piercing, machining, field core assembling, epoxy injection, field core coil assembling, etc. In addition to these, new products, such as FCC assy, plunger, etc. will be assembled here.
　This addition not only increased capacity but improved logistics (parts flow).

An Awards ceremony was held on October 31st, 2013 for the companies in the city of Isesaki that contributed to the growth of local economy. Ogura Clutch was recognized again this year for its continued business of automobile air conditioning clutch related parts with Sansen, Co. and Marunaka, Ltd. located in the city of Isesaki. As a manufacturing company, Ogura Clutch is dedicated to continuing its contribution to the growth of the industries in the city of Isesaki.

　Tokyo Auto Salon 2013 was held between January 11th and 13th 2013.Two of the same brands from last year, new products and car displays were exhibited at the show.We newly introduced“Clutch for TOYOTA 86/SUBARU BRZ”as a main feature this year.Also,“Pull System Clutch for TOYOTA”,“Metal Single Clutch for L Model engine”and“SE series clutch”were displayed.These products attracted much attention from visitors.
　ARUGOS an import automobile brand,“400Light Clutch for BMW 318i”was exhibited to emphasize our development of brand new products.
　Our booth was much busier than last year and the show ended with great success.Thank you very much for stopping by our booth and supporting us during the show.

　Ogura clutch made a presentation to ” the mechanical components & materials technology expo with the 17th time ” which was hosted at Tokyo Big Sight on the 21st from June 19th in 2013. 
　Ogura showcased it’s a new line-up of tension control units, new powder clutch, OPC-N/A released in April 2013, flip flop clutch/brake, energy saving micro electromagnetic brake and other products at 7th M-Tech show. In addition to new products, Ogura also exhibited demonstration machine to illustrate the function of its products.

One of Ogura subsidiaries in the US, Ogura Corporation (OC) recently received the highest honor from Ford Motor Company–World Excellence Gold Award. Based on the performance in 2012, Ford recognized 47 best suppliers, and among them, top 5% (Quality, Delivery and Cost) was awarded Gold. 
　Ogura supplies component parts of differential locking apparatus for their pickup truck. These parts were manufactured at Ogura plant in China (OCD) and assembled at OC. Currently 150 thousand pieces are made annually, but the plan is to expand this production to 550 thousand pieces.

　On June 13th, 2013, a chapter of the General Incorporated Association in Gunma Prefecture awarded Ogura Clutch president, Yasuhiro Ogura a commendation for his years of distinguished services for development and strengthening of the organization. Ogura Clutch will continue its contribution to development of Gunma Prefecture and its industries.

　Ogura as a company continues not only its commitments to engage in the local community but also contributions in the effort toward industrial development in Gunma Prefecture.
