In anticipation of air-conditioner clutch market expansion in the near future in India, Ogura is establishing a subsidiary in India, Ogura Clutch India PVT. LTD. (It is to start its operation in June 2014). Capital investment is 200 million Rupee (approximately 330 million yen), and the location is in the state of Haryana (northern part of India). For the time being, production will take place at a rented facility. 
　Production is expected to ramp up in the fall of 2015, starting with clutches for Japanese compressor makers (annually 100 thousand clutches). By 2017, the total quantity is expected to reach 200 thousand. Once production of air conditioner clutches is well established, Ogura plans to produce other types of products, such as industrial clutches and brakes.
